These heat-shrink step-down butt splice terminals are designed for use in harsh environments. They are suitable for connecting wires of 16-14 gauge to 12-10 gauge. The terminals feature a heat shrink connection with an internal sealant to keep moisture out and prevent the wire from pulling out.
To use the terminals, first crimp them onto the wires securely. Then, simply apply heat to activate the heat shrink and seal the connection. The terminals are designed to connect two wires together by inserting them on each end until they reach the built-in wire stop in the center.
Two crimps are required, one for each wire, in addition to applying heat to complete the connection. These terminals are made of tin-plated copper and can withstand temperatures up to 194°F.
